Monday 1/1/2012 - Healthy Recipe
Today we want to share our recipe for a little twist on some goulash Indy Fitness Camp style:
1lb Lean Ground Turkey
1 Box ( 14 - 16 oz) of Whole Grain Pasta
1 Can of Organic Diced Tomatoes (Whole Foods/Trader Joe's brands or comparable)
1 Can of Organic Light Kidney Beans (same as above)
1 Tablespoon Ground fresh Tumeric
1 Pinch of Sea Salt
1 Dash of fresh Ground Pepper (cayenne and black to taste)
1 Jar of Organic (no sugar added) Tomato Sauce
Brown Ground Turkey in light Olive Oil and Tumeric mixture
Add Pepper and Salt to your own taste. (we like less salt and a little bit of spice with additional pepper in ours)
Boil Pasta Al Dente , strain and rinse.
Strain and rinse Kidney Beans
Strain Canned Tomatoes
Mix Jar of Tomato Sauce with Ground Turkey - simmer for five minutes
Mix all remaining contents and allow to simmer on low heat for an additional five minutes.
We like to serve this dish with some side salad and of course lots and lots of good water!
ENJOY
